Have you ever stopped and wondered how sound can be generated and transferred to and from one machine to the next? Or, how by a flick of a switch can light up a pitch black room? People shouldn't fear the darkness the night brings but rather be concerned about these gigantic leaps in technology, what do you think?

Actually, I'm pretty sure Robots are part of what you mean. Japanese people actually don't have a phobia of tech like Americans. "Ooh Robots! They'll kill us all because they'll somehow get a mind of its own!" For Japanese people, it doesn't work like that for them. They believe Robots aid people; not for killing or anything.

Fearing human progress is to deny what it is to be human. One of the main thing that differentiates humans from (most) other animals is their drive to create. It makes no more sense to fear technology than it would to fear cave paintings. The WAY humans USE that technology, yes. But not the technology or creativity.

[/quote] Yes it makes us different, but does it justify what we're creating? We can create in ways other than through technological means. Art is a perfect example, the interpretation of ones emotions and thoughts. I'm going to be hypocritical and ask, do you think as we move forward, our abilities of person-to-person communication will become lost? Will Cellphones, and social programs revert us into semi-autistic beings?

It just so happens that a few days ago I was talking to a friend about how amazing it is that someone somehow is able to figure out things that we now consider daily like TVs. I could never understand anything so challenging as how technology works.
