Zakum Run Questions

Hey fellow EMSers, I went on my first zakum run today, and dced on the 2nd body. I was wondering whether other Windows 7 users are experiencing this problem, or whether it was just a normal disconnection that won't happen every time. Secondly, I am a level 127 bishop and I partied with a couple of level 16x attackers. I asked if we could loot 1 zhelm each, and the leader declined saying that he would take 2 (one on a mule) - saying that I would have to pay him 10m to loot one, and only if 4 zhelms dropped T_T. He also said that I didn't deserve one because I wasn't an attacker. Is this what usually happens at z-runs, or was this just unfair? Thanks in advance for any replies, Andy

Well the squad leader is an asshat, no question about it. That's not how good squads work, so worry not. You just ran into a bad group. Usually if leader loots, he sells the helmets and then divides the splits to all runners, or just gives each person a set amount of mesos per run. However the squads works it out. Other option is to rotate a loot list ( which I do ), and then let everyone loot a helmet when it's their turn and then they can sell it or scroll it or do whatever they want with it. Saves me the trouble of selling helmets, and I think it's still fair. Edit: And yeah, Windows 7 users have some trouble with maple, but I don't know any tricks for that since I'm a vista user sorry

1. Yeah that's normal for W7 and Vista users. You can try lowering the game graphics after every body, but it's not really confirmed that it solves the problem. 2. Yup, that's also normal. The leader of the run decides about the rules. But the run you joined was mostly for the money I think. If you join a normal one, for fun, then the Zhelms are mostly given to those who don't have one yet.

Thank you for the replies everyone! :D I will try another zakum run soon - hopefully a fun one which isn't so money intensive. Hopefully I won't dc - or else I might try using Windows XP instead. Thanks again! :D Andy EDIT: Speaking of which, is anyone interested in joining me for a few fun zakum runs? We can obviously alternate / share drops and agree such things beforehand. I dont dc since I installed xp, I still do everything else on seven, but on zruns I reboot in xp. It helped greatly. The zrun is not a bad idea, maybe we could eventually form some basil zrun, that would be nice

Just change graphics after each phase then you'll be fine on Vista.

[/quote] Doesnt even work for vista, i did around 20 zruns on my old vista OS where i did EVERYTHING and i mean everything i could find to prevent it. Reinstalled to XP, no DCs since. And that's not too rude of a squad, it's normal. People go zak to get the helms to resell, only join if you're a 2nd 3rd looter or so. It's all about mesos, so people wont be nice. Which is why i don't personally do it.

lower the graphics, it should prevent you from dcing, and the leader isnt nice D: And dont expect too much when u go on Zruns, since your not a attacker, since attackers are usually the first priority

I guess it all comes down to what kind of computer you have and what you have on it.

Another reason to fight Zakum is for exp and other books zakum drops not just helms. And cant you fight zakum twice per 24 hours anyway... how is one guy going to be able to loot that many helms if you fight twice in a row... that doesnt sound normal and if it bothers you, dont go. Bishops dont get exp from bossing anyway, so what do you get if you cant sell any drops? Youre essential to their success or they wouldnt want you to come. Just say no to them and find normal people.

From what I've heard there are differences between EMS and GMS when it's about d/cing. Just try it out yourself. And I might join a couple runs, though I won't be online a lot. Add me ingame.
