So the girl I like is my friend's ex-girlfriend

Yeah.. so I've known her for about 2 months now and she broke up with her boyfriend about 2 weeks ago, and they were going out for nearly 7 months. But I've been friends with him for over a year now, but I really really really like her. We're very good friends and we flirt a lot with each other, and I'm pretty sure she likes me too. We text each other every day for several hours, and we're both in Track and do the same events, and on Saturday we both planned on going to watch the state semi-finals; she went with her friends and I came by myself (my friends were too damn lazy to go, but it played to my advantage). I thought it would be really awkward because I knew her friends, but we were still mostly acquaintances at the time, but I got to know everyone better and my friend (we'll just call her Monica to make this easier) said that they thought I was really funny, and they even said we should go out. When they said that she just started staring at me and I gave her a long stare back, but it wasn't awkward. For like 3 hours today we made facebook videos for each other, and she's never done this to any of her friends, even her girl friends. It's a small gesture but still.. when we have a good conversation going through texting she stays up almost 2 hours past her bedtime to keep texting, usually until we fall asleep.I can give tons of other instances, but I'm not sure if I should ask her because I'm not 100% sure if she likes me, nor if I should even ask because it's too early for her. She felt guilty for the first few days after doing it because her ex was really depressed, but ever since we started hanging out more she doesn't even talk about him or mention him, she just worries about me because right now is a hard time for me. So what should I do? Should I ask her or should I wait?

Haha I don't see how I can flirt much more.. we sometimes hold hands, I always complement her on her looks and her personality, even though she thinks I'm kidding because she has like no self-confidence. She always giggles a lot, and she doesn't really do this to any of her other guy friends.

Before making a move fnd out how your friend feels about the whole situation if he give syou the clear do what your heart desires if he still feels hurt bout the break up hold yor feelings back and give him time for the wounds to heal because once they heal he'll be able to move on but just grabbing his scraps before he's finished is against the bro code.

Yeah but I have to look out for myself too.. I've liked her like ever since I've met her and I'm really only willing to wait if she needs it. Not so much him, because it was his fault that their relationship fell apart. She didn't have to tell me all the details for me to see it.

I say go for it. If he doesn't like it, who cares. He should've moved on by now, and if he hasn't, then he needs to. at this point, I suggest talking to her and figuring out if she feels the way you feel about her. If she does, you're in business. if not, give her some time, she'll come around.
