Server checks = waste of time

Well i had purchased a server transfer to move my hero. and hoping that it would go this server check.. 8.5 hours later, still in the same place it was last week. i dont understand the point of having server checks when they add a few lame items, fix simple bugs, and waste ur time. In that wh0le span of over 8 hours they couldnt transfer the characters? now im stuck waiting another week, possibley longer. Just as how my mage took 3 server xfers and a patch before it moved.

Nexon cash sales are most likely higher in america, anyways, so you know where Nexon would aim for 4x.

To patch D/C hacks, you have the whisper packet be filtered through the main server first, and block the packets when they are being spammed too quickly. Problem solved. And their Auto Ban is a failure. Remember Typhons, how nexon was bragging at the numbert of "hackers" they banned, and then mysteriously everyone ABed at Typhons was unbanned? And nexon, when it comes to hackers, you have two options: The Noob way: you wait for a hack and fix it asap (nexon does this, minus the asap part) The Professional way: You hire hackers to hack your test servers, and have them report their findings and suggestions for the main game. Anyway, I'm done wasting my time here. People who have no understanding of what the free market is and believe companies rule with no bounds and should never be questioned will probably never change their misguided ways.

I don't mind it since I hardly buy nx (maybe $30 a year) and the server checks are at night on a school day. At least they're trying to fix all the problems.

When I came back to maple people were still no delaying in cpq, how easily we forget. So in about a year, DC hacks should be on their way out... XD

They WANT Americans to buy 2x cards while they have 2x events. Go play another server if you don't like these time zone conflicts. Or, if you don't want to move servers, then maybe find something else to do in your spare time? I'm pretty sure playing computer games is not your only hobby.

[/quote] It's not only whispers that people use to d/c hack, so you'd need ALL the chats to go through the server. Oh and the chat requests etc etc. And indeed, that is the professional way. Many gaming companies use that method. EDIT: @qazwsx7: Then rebypass it or something. Or do what adroxknight said and run it through the server. @above, yes, playing computer games is my only hobby. The only one im interested in anyway.

[/quote] More stress on their servers? You shouldn't believe everything you hear. Do you really believe all of them don't hack? There are some hackers on basil, just to let you know. They changed the headers for whispers, but it only takes a hacker like a few seconds to find out the new header

If the servers had to check every single packet being transferred to it, you could expect redonkulous lag in every large worlds as well. =/ and they already have something in place to prevent whisper spamming, they just bypass it since it's a numerical limit. Seriously when it comes to hacking, it's like building a bank while the robbers are already digging the tunnel. Edit: any kind of DC block legit or Nexon programmed would essentially need to be client sided to avoid the overhead costs to the servers, much in the way the current illegitimate Blocks work now... and if they ever tried this, I would not play for about 2 weeks and watch as the AB systems kicks in and bans people who get whisper spammed until that glitch was fixed. It's kind of like not wanting to be the first person on the world's biggest boat, or the first driver on a newly opened bridge. Not that I don't trust the design, or the materials, or the builders, or the operators. I just don't trust that they all will work together on the first day.

The only hacks i really want them to patch, are the ones that ruin my gameplay. D/c hacks, are the only ones that do that. @above, exactly. I can't even sell stuff decently in this game. Once i even got threatened with d/c hacks, the guy was trying to force me to sell my stuff to him cheap.

[/quote] The server checks every week/2 weeks are at night, even if they are pointless. it shouldnt really matter.
