So, just an hour ago the results for our nationwide examination was out (which is necessary for getting into good colleges). I got a total of 628 out of 700, just 2 marks less than what I needed to get into the college I wanted. GG. They need a minimum on 90% (630/700) to get in, that too if not already full. I got 89.71%... Share your educational let downs, or any other let downs if you want ...

I could have gotten my Bachelor last year if university hadn't been switching classes around and had my Major classes overlap with my Minor classes. And the meanest thing is that they told me I should have prepared better and when I checked the regulations... what they did was completely legal. Thanks, Leiden University.

I got one mark off full marks in my biology coursework, because my teacher said I'd "left something out" about auxins and hydrogen ions. Something which I had written on the next page. Took me five minutes of arguing, but I made her read the page again and got the mark in the end... So, an initial let down, I guess. Worked out okay in the end.

[/quote] they have like a cut off at 90%, and since I've got only 270/300 in science (I'm gonna put my answer sheets for rechecking, the way I remember writing those, it should be 280+), they won't be listening to anything I have to say cause, I'm trying to get into a science college...

[/quote] Which one? Anyway, I applied for medicine back when I was 18. I got to the interview and was royally screwed over by a question they asked - "why would someone dedicate their life to studying sea slugs?". I ended up at an internationally top 10 ranked university studying medicinal chemistry instead.

I'm terrified about getting into grad school because my GPA will be 1 point lower then what I need. I really, really need to ace this GRE.
