Never really getting a chance to meet people their age. Not getting the full experience of being a kid. :/

They don't know anything different, so it isn't really all that bad for them.

Sure they can meet people their age. They just actually have to try. I mean how do you think adults make friends?

Also, it's kind of awkward going up to a person you don't know and say, "Hey, wanna hang out?" You don't really get a chance to talk to random people outside of school.

The thing that makes me feel bad for homeschooled kids is that usually the reason that they're homeschooled is because their parents want to brainwash them and not let society "contaminate" their brains, rather than letting them think for themselves, whether it be for religious or political reasons. That is what truly scares me about the whole home-schooling situation.

There are plenty of chances to meet others outside of school. You can sign up for sports, join a club, community service, (church), etc...

I watch wife swap (ya...) and all these crazy conservative families homeschool their kids because they think public school is full of sex and drugs, so they keep them home to tell them science is wrong.

i know a few homeschooled kids. 1 of em is emo, and creeps me out a LOT. another is a musical genius. think next mozart...but talking to him is like talking to a metronome. boring as hell. and the last never talks. he just kinda silently creeps on the edges of conversations lol.

homeschooling generally requires you to take part in social gatherings, such as activity centers, clubs, etc etc so they still have the "school" experience

Home schooled kids don't get a typical "normal" kid experience, and us "normal" kids will never experience the same things as home schooled kids.

Yea its really all depending on how bad you want to get to know people o.o... cause its fairly easy to meet people heck you have more time to go out with people. This is really sort of a steryotype in a way because there are homeschool groups which are like schools but only with homeschoolers. @ kemzi i have seen that a little with some people ive met but it really doesnt affect the kids that much.

At least the homeschooled kids i know, they play sports so they still have friends.

[/quote] Well they ain't wrong, LOL. I opted to be home schooled the second half of this school year (online high school) due to personal reasons, and I hate it. So bored, especially since I never really got the chance to get any classmate's numbers, and I don't like Facebook at all.

One of my best friends is homeschooled. He is one the most outgoing and athletic people I know and has lots of friends from all over the world. It never feels awkward or boring when I'm around him because he knows how to spark up a fun conversation. He likes being homeschooled and sometimes tells me that I should join him too.
