Thorns vs SE :)

Hi basilers, i have a few questions, 1. Do thorns and SE stack? 2. If they don't will BMs get less wanted in boss runs or DBs? thanks

They do stack, but only for jobs that don't have natural critical.

Thorns benefits those wihout crits (Corsair in particular :3) How would Thorns affect Buccs btw? -curious-

so if they stack then corsairs will get the full benefits, like thorns gives them critical then SE increases their damage more?

Buccs get a nerfed effect. Thorns only applies to them when fighting stunned monsters. Why? Idk. xD Edit: Might be so Shadowers don't complain since their main 1v1 skill, Assassinate doesn't work with SE or Thorns. xD

[/quote] Thorns doesn't apply if your crit rate is higher then 35%. So for non-stunning monsters you get a crit-chance, while for stunning monsters the crit-chance doesn't change. Something similar happens to Arans. When they have below 40 combo, their Crit-chance is lower then 35% and get boosted by Thorns, while above 40 combo, Thorns does nothing.

[/quote] True but, Thorns effect gives 60% of critical damage thus, if any other job has a natural critical of above 40% the thorns won't affect at all.

Sources for Bucs getting nerfed Thorns effect. AsiaSoft forums had a thread going over it too, that page was in Korean, but translated, it said roughly the same thing. xD

Doesn't Thorns give less crit than the Dual Blader who cast it? Strategywiki: "Chance of doing a critical attack. Party members can get this buff, but the chance is halved. When there is a better skill that gives critical, this buff will cancel."

Not the best translation ( straight from google translator ) but still~ "Party members can get this buff but the chance is halved" - So just the activation rate is halved? "When there is a better skill that gives critical, this buff will cancel" - Doesn't work for classes with crits already. Also does this mean that if there's a 4th job archer and a dual blader in the same party, only either one of the buffs will work?
