Hello, I've been starting this unfunded Evan and doing great... just wondering a few things I read that magic guard mastery books are only from cash shop? :S any other useful skills that I'm soon-to-get will be like this? I might as well just stop playing ;/ lvl 32 at the time... never heard of that Astaroth boss before (stopped playing a long time and just came back), can I take it on my own or is it really difficult? Thanks in advance

Yes. And magic critical and magic booster, but those are needed when you are 60 something. It is difficult and you need a party for it.

Magic guard, booster and critical are the three skills you need to buy for an Evan. Do you need them? Well definitely a yes on Magic Guard, because you are a mage, and face it, you've got low HP. If you plan on really making it anywhere past 55 or so, you've got to have it. Trust me, I had an F/P mage some years back that I built wrong and it had only 6 MG .... I eventually deleted her after making it to level 74 or so and remade her because it was just so impossible to train past a certain point without it. Booster is pretty important, because a lot of the attacks Evans have are really rather slow. Booster is what makes you able to attack at a reasonable pace again and not feel like you're going to fall asleep between some attacks. Critical - probably the least necessary of the three NX skills, but if you get booster, this comes in a package with it. It's really only an increase to damage, which is why I say it's the least necessary, but face it, everyone loves damage, and it does certainly make training on those higher leveled monsters easier. Oh and on Astaroth - you must be in a party to face him, it's a PQ. Minimum of three members I believe? Good luck finding a group of people in the right level range with all the pre-quests done to face him.

yeah it's been kinda hard to find people... for the cash shop mastery books, you get all the levels unlocked with only buying it once right? like i spent 2k (if I could) buying the magic guard one but I will already be able to level it up to 20

Magic Guard is required to survive attacks at around 75+. Less if you plan on going to higher level places before you're really supposed to.

You can survive any hit as an Evan at the monsters you train at during that level, 25% Magic Guard does just fine, Along with the higher base HP and the eventual Magic Resistance. I skele without Magic Guard to reserve pot usage when I run low on Ginsengs during x4. |
