Hey guys Does IObit Game Booster count as a 3rd party program? I saw it in a post here on Basil. If anyone uses it with playing Maple, please tell me your experiences. I want to get the max out of my crappy laptop.

i used it on combat arms no problem but i suggest u boot it after ur in the game

I use it all the time. No ban. It just closes programs not needed for gaming. ex. Printer-recognizing software.

I've been using it for a good six months, no problems. It doesn't directly effect Maple; it just closes down nonessential programs that are running in the background, freeing CPU and RAM, making your games appear to run faster.

From what ive read (just went to their website) its just a program that basicly sets maples priority as high meaning that say internet may take a second or two more to load or whatever and that it has all of maples files put together in one place (defragmenting) so when it comes to running it your computer doesnt take ages looking for file #31 or whatever. Sorry for the small wall of text.

[/quote] Not appear to run faster, they to run faster for those who barely meet system requirements (in terms of RAM). Also, most of the time, it won't free up CPU because those background/normal services stopped that are redundant don't use any/very little to begin with.
