Glasses Vs. Contacts!

Which do you think is better? Glasses? or Contacts? A thanks in advance for anyone who can list pros and cons for each. My problem: I want to see well, but hate wearing glasses. (edit) (well not really hate, but just find them annoying at times) On the other hand i like that you could have different color contacts, but like many of my friends said, most people if not everyone is "afraid" to put their finger into their eye, at least for a while, until they get used to it. Please vote, respond, and list your reasons below! A thanks in advance is in order for anyone who can answer/help EDIT: I actually left out a major part that i forgot. I only need the glasses for Long distance, reading i dont need glasses for, unless the whiteboard/chalkboard is far away from me. EDIT2: I do see some pro's and cons for them by reading you guy's/gal's responses. Contacts Pro's: 1. Help while playing sports 2. Gives Perhiperal vision (fail spelling but idc) 3. More to come since i need to continue reading comments Contacts Con's: 1. Need a Contact solution to put them in along with a holder 2. Cost a bit more money, but thats not that horrible. 3. Drys out the eye if kept in too long 4. More to come since i need to continue reading comments Glasses Pro's: 1. ? Glasses Con's: 1. No Perhiperal vision (fail spelling again but still idc) 2. Easily breakable while playing sports. 3. Dont like to carry them around if i barely use them EDIT3: I do have a tendancy to rub my eyes if they itch, so i dont know how much of a problem that will cause if i wear contacts. On the other hand, after a while of wearing glasses, i need to rub my eyes also (rarely it burns, god knows why though). Plus i believe i need to get a new Perscription because im starting to squint with these glasses, a bit more often than usual. Contacts give peripheral vision. Glasses don't. Also, you dont get the dorky look of glasses. /endthread

Well for the people that have alright vision but need glasses, they can be taken off and on. And you don't need (NEED) to wear the all the time

Glasses can look really good and they can be taken off and left somewhere. Contacts can be different colors but you can't take them out unless you have some solution to put them in. Putting your finger in your eye isn't as people think. I wear contacts because I play a lot of sports so I can't wear glasses without them falling off.

Wearing glasses make you look sophisticated, smart, and sometimes sexy too. Contacts do look good, and it's useful for sports and going to the beach, but it's a pain in the ass to buy contact solution whereas glasses don't need any solutions or constant restocking. Around here it costs $42 for contacts for 3 months.

Get contacts if you hate glasses. They're scary the first time, but you realize it doesn't hurt or anything and can do it easily after.

dude square thick rim glasses look cool. especially when they lens are colored. no one will think you're a nerd. unless you wear one of those ugly round glasses that typical nerdy asians wear (no offense im asian too)

Contacts are great if you get the right pair. Some of them can make your eyes dry up really quickly and that causes your eyes to itch, which in case you didn't know sucks because you can't scratch it.

Ah, I've never tried contacts. But whenever I play any sport, it seems the ball always hits my face. So my glasses are all jacked up. :/

My glasses completely messed up because I've been playing football with them on.

I use contacts. Contacts let you see all around you and you don't have something sitting on your nose. Also you can only get color contacts if your eyes are good enough. If you have a really high prescription then they probably don't make color contacts for you because it damages your eyes more or something (I tried getting them before). Glasses are annoying but so can contacts. At the end of a long day your eyes start to irritate you because contacts dry up and sometimes it even makes you feel like you want to sleep and your eyes start shutting but it's annoying because the contacts are still there. Also if you fall asleep with contacts they stick to your eyes and they are really annoying to get out. I use contacts when I am outside and glasses before I go to bed/ when I'm alone at home. 1 more thing. Some people look good with glasses and bad with contacts and vice versa. EDIT: I forgot to add, if you play sports then contacts are highly recommendable. I don't see myself playing lacrosse or football with glasses. Although it can be done, I never did. Contacts give you peripherals and better stability.

Contacts are WAY convenient for sports, since when I played sports, I had to take them off, making me blind. :/ I just love contacts since it gives me a feel of what having 20/20 vison is like. I wear glasses at home and stuff, but you still see the rim of the glasses and it's not the same. Get contacts if you don't mind spending more money. If I actually looked good in glasses, I'd probably wear them, though.
