My opinion on "cc plz".

People take proper grammar too seriously. There's no reason to harass people because you don't like their grammar. This is especially the case when people use the term "cc plz" instead of "Change Channels please" to get people to leave a Channel. KSing on the grounds that someone isn't putting enough effort into their typing is pathetic and makes you look like a fool. Get over it if you're one of the many that flip out because someone's grammar isn't perfect. If someone tells you to cc plz, be civil about it and leave. I would also like to add that I'm talking about being agitated just because they asked that you Change Channels in a matter that's not even meant to be offensive in most cases. But for some unknown reason, it still offends many people. Now to the main rant, I don't understand you people who think the use of the phrase "cc plz" is grounds for kill-stealing, better known to the community as KSing. Can you please explain to me because the typical answer is something along the lines of these: • "They're not putting in effort to their typing." Many people use terms such as "KS", "lol", and others as terms to shorten what they type. I often find such shortenings in the posts of those who whine about people needing to put effort to type out things. You have the right to replace kill-steal with KS, but they don't have the right to replace Change Channels please with cc plz? Really now? What makes cc plz so different from the other slang terms that you need to rage about it? • "They need to use proper grammar." It's the internet people, not English class. If you understand what it means without putting effort into reading it, don't complain. cc plz is a common slang term in Maple Story, almost everyone knows what it means; so not understanding it isn't an excuse in most cases. • "It's disrespectful." This partially ties into the first problem, but what's disrespectful about it? It literally means "Change Channels please", and last time I checked, please was considered respectful. If they ask you to cc plz because you actually are KSing, why the hell does your rude self deserve respect? Or why would you even consider talking about their manners when yours are even worse? I would also like to mention, because so many in the thread did, that there are situations in which putting effort into your typing can get you killed. If you think cc plz is annoying, that's fine. I've made it clear that I disagree, but I can't stop you from being annoyed. Just don't take it too far and harass anyone. If you happen to disagree beyond that point, I encourage you to elaborate and help me understand better.

When people tell me to "cc plz" I leave. But it still bothers me how people can't just type in "please" they have to use "plz" or "pls".

Personally I rather say Cc please, because if i don't people will say "Kser!" and I was like "You were the one that ksed me!" and he was like "Oh yeah?" and I was like "Ya!" *He stood there for 2 hours*

I used to think the same way, people who typed "change channel please" were more "respectable" in my eyes. But now, after giving more thought and experiencing it myself.... I know that some people are on 2x or 4x and "CC PLS" is as good as it gets. Its better than leave now, or CC, etc. I know i don't want to spend time to type out a full sentence to cc because the times running.

Personally, I don't care what they say. I'm able to fully recognize that they were there before me regardless of what they say and how they say it. Whether it be "CC PLZ" "Omg get out man"or something else. I simply don't care. I move on, it's not worth wasting my time and getting stunted exp just to get them to say it differently. They don't matter to me. Besides, if I was going to change channels anyways, why react to what they are saying? Instead of doing what's in my own best interest? That's silly.

who cares if they type out the whole thing or not? "cc plz" really means "can you please change channels? i'm not interested in splitting a map/partying with you." what we should say is "gfto my channel!"

They're asking you for something, so the shouldn't be rude about it. It's fine if you're talking to a friend, but not if you're asking a stranger for something.

And if they were in the map first, which is what we're assuming in the thread, they really shouldn't have to ask.

its called being polite. theres no reason you can't be more polite. infact i always say "Would you mind changing channels?" or "Can you please change channels?" because i'd rather be nice to them and they leave almost everytime. i see CCPLZ as a lame way to say "your mother, this is my channel, your mother, gtho, your mother, im lol1337dexlezzsin, lol noob." it takes a little bit longer to type it out and OH NO, you might lose 1 min of your amazing leech or "god-like" damage costing you maybe .2% im so hurt. and usually i will hang out and kill stuff until they type it out, why? just because your on the computer doesn't mean you don't still have to have some respect for your other peers/players.
