What is it called when you don't believe in a religion, but you believe that some greater power exists?

Technically, for you to be a "true" Atheist, you cannot believe in God not existing, but you must deny his existence, or else your faith will basically encompass nothing more than a Christian's leap of faith. But then again, there's also strong and weak atheism, and of course, agnosticism.

How is it possible to not believe in a religion but believe in the existence of a higher power, unless you're talking about concepts in society such as love or knowledge or something.

If you believe a god exists but doesn't act in the world it's deism. Agnostics basically believe they don't know what the heck is going on.
