Why are people so mean to older people?

I know this guy who's been playing Maplestory for a while, and he's 24, and he has a job and a wife and everything. People give him so much crap, and it's kinda funny, but I don't know why. Some kids act like you can't ever have any fun when you're 18 or older.

I'm of legal age and I play Maple (and other games) a lot. I'm a gamer, it's just a big hobby of mine along with other things, just like some people view movies every day, others spend hours a day reading and some people just spend their whole time cheering at sports on TV. Video games nowaday are just another media, even close to a form of art. I don't know why some people still think there is a certain age cut for them. Telling people what they should be doing on their free time is totally uncalled for. There are no age for hobbies, the 'cute' look on Maple is simply what Nexon judged appealing to the biggest crowd, behind this 'cute' look is a nice, complex game with many gameplay elements that I enjoy, so I couldn't care less if people think it's just a children's (card) game, I like it.

I'm 20 and know some people older than me that play maple yet and I see nothing wrong with it. If one enjoys playing an online game what should stop them? Young teenagers have to see a lot of them may have school and play maple in there spare time, well guess what older people have spare time to when they aren't working or at college.

Usually the person that's always trying to start something is the one that brings up age. The first thing they say is "how old r u? i bet ur like 12 u stupid kid" Then he says "I'm 24" and then they want to say "wow u got no life u still liv wit ur parents n play video games all day", or something along the lines of that.

if you are 20yr old+ you should be making a living and supporting your kids and by then your brain should be mature enough to not be excited by Maplestory, if not ur considered "immature" since your brain obviously is immature

IMO, thats way too young in the first place. And MapleStory is just like ANY other game that adults play. So, all those adults who play NFL and NBA sports games, or those older people who have fun playing backgammon and chess are considered "immature"? This is exactly why kids today are disgusting.

That's nothing. I'm 34. And I have friends who are 67, 54, 32, and 43 who play, and my Wife is 32 and she plays too. (Sometimes my 5 year olds take over too, but shhh!)
