I, for one, am. These threads spam the crap out of the chat section everyday. I wouldn't care so much if people weren't so ignorant. So basil, are you tired of The Great Religion Wars?

I hated the great wars of religion. Bohemian Phase, Danish Phase, Swedish Phase, and French or International phase, just over the little conflict on Catholicism and Protestantism mainly in The Netherlands and the Confederation of the Rhine. It really demolished German economic prospects for a long long time and can be considered one of the major turning points in European History.

I mean, c'mon, Christians have dealt with so much more worse things than a couple of mispronounced words being spewed online. No sex before marriage? To me, that pretty much sucks if you're a teenager with huge increases of lust and perversion coupled with onsets of hormonal changes. I feel sorry for the pituitary gland.

I would rather have discussions about ethics and epistemology than about religion. The latter is too touchy and biased in comparison to the former IMO :x But too bad Basil is too immature to have serious discussions for the most part.

[/quote] Opinions or not, serious threads should be dealt with in a serious matter. Hell, the Pokemon thread is probably taken more seriously than most of the religion threads I've seen on Basil.

[/quote] Saw a lot of ethics threads on Basil, but these were really just "how moral are you" one-sided issues that dealt with current events like abortion, not heavier stuff. Epistemology? Haven't seen that on Basil yet, probably because philosophy is so underrated.
