Extreme connection lag in EMS

I first joined EMS after my friend persuaded me since he could no longer create an account on GMS due to the recently activated IP block that Nexon America had decided to use. I got bored after a year of playing EMS, took a break completely and then rejoined GMS with a proxy when the Pirate class was released. I know that my internet connection is relatively bad (Sky Connect package broadband - don't buy it). And the reason why I'm now taking a break from GMS is because of the minor lag i'm getting, making it take longer to kill monsters etc. But now without a proxy playing EMS from the UK I'm getting Extreme lag and the server seems to drop me every so often. So why's this happening? Are the EMS servers just slow compared to GMS's?

I'm not aware of there being a generalised problem with bad lag in EMS at the moment. We get sporadic lag problems, particularly after patches, but on the whole, it's not particularly bad, as far as I can tell.

I don't really know what's going on with the connection atm.. My guild leader lives in the UK, and he have problems to.

Are you suuure none is leeching from your internet?.. The only thing that was annoying when I played GMS was the slow pick up..

No lagging problems at ems for me :S its way faster then gms even without a proxy (for me)

NPC's and players take some time to load on the map It takes about a minute to start and complete a quest Monsters freeze after i hit them and Pickup time is sometimes up to about 20 seconds. I accept that my internet connection is pathetic, but I just don't understand why it's laggier than playing GMS with a proxy.

[/quote] It's possible that your connection to the EMS servers is being routed through a node with traffic problems, ie the global network equivalent of a traffic jam. Try connecting via a European-based proxy to see if that helps matters.
