i personally dont play but i do enjoy some good rock and metal songs and if anybody is up to it would like to see somebody pull off a complete electric guitar cover of hard to see by five finger death punch (its an addicting song with their newest guitarist Jason Hook) and post it on youtube.

[/quote] lol im flat out broke but if its so easy go for it, and for that matter whats hard to you (classic rock solos look easy, like its all drawn out using the same note for several minutes then going to another note(exaggeration im sure) )

first of all, just because you shred does not make you the best guitarist, some would argue that makes you bad. To me there is no one "best" guitarist, there are just a lot of really good ones that make me bob my head to the music.

[/quote] shredding = bad? who the hell? if anything it makes you good, not the best by any means, but anyone who can shred most likely knows a good bit about scales and whatnot. but bad? no way in hell.

[/quote] not saying there is any 1 best guitarist but my idea of a challenging solo is stuff like from the song angel of death by slayer (might be way too hard for a lot of people on here).

[/quote] Sure, shredding doesn't make you the best, but it doesn't make you bad. It really depends on the genre. To some people, finger picking is the best. To others, fast strumming. Then to the popular generalization, shredding is the best. RE: To my previous post, I would cover the song for you, but I just don't enjoy playing metal songs.
