So i got a new laptop with W7 on it, and i downloaded ms. When i open MS the page doesnt fill up the whole screen and there are black lines on the side. Anyone know how to fix this so that ms fills the whole screen? ;o Ty in advance.

you have to configure the video card to scale to full screen, that way you won't have the black bars

Check if it works with different types of connections , like VGA, HDMI or what ever is applicable in you PC. If not, try testing your monitor in another computer to see if its actually something in your computer. Adjust video card settings. Update drivers. Can't think of anything else right now.

so on my laptop i go into the control panel for my graphics card(nvidia) and set the scaling to nvidia scaling with fixed aspect ratio because i like the black bars but i think you would choose to use the device scaling which is what makes mine stretch across the entire screen or a non fixed aspect ratio?

Try HDMI also try changing the resolution of your monitor until it fills the whole screen if all that fails its probably your monitor settings so play around with those

|
naitotsuki : Where can i find the video card settings? o.e
Try looking in the control panel or make a search with a basic word like "nvidia" or "ati" , depending on your video card maker. |

Does it honestly bother you that much? It does not affect gameplay whatsoever, speaking from personal experience, the game runs extremely well no matter what.

RIGHT click anywhere on your desktop. A drop down menu will appear from your mouse. Click PERSONALIZE. At the very bottom of the page that pops up it'll say, "Display Settings", click it. Now adjust the resolution to MAX. 32bit or 64bit, whichever you have. Save. Done.

^ Thats a lot to go through to play maple "full screen," If this was my desktop at home and my little brother did this i'd smack him The screen isn't streched and you cant really see the pixel blocks on the character.
