Dawn Warrior Soul Driver 16 vs 21

'ello, currently training Dawn warrior. Almost at third job. Was looking at all the guides and it seems to follow this trend: 21 Soul Driver > 15 Combo > Soul Charge then Max Soul Driver 21 SD attacks mobs of 7, but 16 hits mobs of 6 (granted, 21 also gives a damage percentage boost, nothing spectacular though). I plan on training at Gobies so why not leave it at 16, move on to Combo/Soul Charge, then come back and max out Soul Driver? A goby house contains six gobies, and I'm already used to training on six at a time (with Soul Blade, Slash Blast, Iron Arrow and Pierce on my MM). Sure, when I move to Himes or Gallos, that 7th and 8th monster will certainly contribute to my training, but right off the bat, in the early 70s and 80s, is 21 SD all that necessary?

What suits you. Your only getting to 120, so the build really doesn't matter too much.

well, true, but i was just wondering if there was any serious detriment or benefit to deviate from the norm

Well considering your Driver is 16 already, you may as well continue on the build that you are on. Just because from experience I have known that it's never good to focus on half of one build, and then so suddenly switch to another. I have a DW and level 70-80 were a breeze for me mainly due to the fact that I had maxed SD. (Note that when I leveled 10 times over the span of 12 hours half the time I was on 2X and SD was 2x as fast. )

so you went straight to 30 Soul Driver, without putting into Combo or Soul Charge? Hmm, another interesting deviation, most guides say to leave SD at 21 and then 15 Combo/Charge

These guides are based of general training places, and I bet gobies weren't one of them :p I'f you're going to train at gobies from 70-80, you could leave it at level 16, but you should max or leave it at 21 when you start galloing

Stormbreakers are a million times faster than gobies ever will be for a DW.

-Soul blade hits only 5 mob- OT: I got my SD to 21 because it's reasonable enough to see spawns of 7 mobs (when I'm @ WR). And there's also this thing where it's just awesome to hit 7 mobs, y'know? For the past 77 lvls, only being able to hit max 6 lol.

Okay, since gobies aren't all that great for DW, and Stormbreakers and WRs and other mobs will have more than six mobs at a time, I'll go for 21 or 26. Of course, once I get it at level 16, I can check out gobies for myself and see how it goes. If it sucks, i'll just retreat back to CWK and go to WRs or StormBreakers.

Gobies will likely suck until you can 100% hit bone fish, and even then you'll want to have some soul charge to kill them faster. If you build soul charge though, you're going to be restricted to leveling at gobies until you can hime.

I'll stick to Stormbreakers or Gallos then, thanks for the advice!
