Why do so many people hate maplestory?

I honestly don't like maplestory because it is pointless and redundant. However, why do people hate it? Many people say it's retarded and people that play it have no life (though I agree with it :P) Is it because of its quirkiness and people would rather prefer 3d?

Many people say it's retarded to post troll threads about why maple sucks on maple forums (though I agree with it :P) Is it because actually don't like being flamed and people would rather prefer to do anything more worthwhile, including playing maple? But really, it's not any more worthwhile to troll on maple forums than to actually play maple.

I just like it because the graphics are rather charming, and it isn't a typical "point and click" MMO. Those are the parts that have kept me playing as long as I have. When I started out, though, the thing that really held me was exploration. I spent weeks, maybe even months, just exploring the vast maple world.

i play both ms and mw2. i prefer mw2. and that's cuz nothing worthy happens in ms anymore... as someone said, the addiction-ness is gone.
