MAC VS. PC? Your opinion?

I've been looking at macs for awhile and i'm thinking of getting a macbook or a macbook pro... The thing is, currently I have a HP Pavilion- Windows 7. I don't do much on the computer, I just talk to friends, study and I rarely play any games.. The main question: Do I stick with Pavilion or save up for a Mac?

I think a Mac would be a good choice, considering you're not an "intense gamer" and would just need something for work that doesn't require much maintenance. Not to mention it'll last for a very long time. And yeah, Basil isn't really the place to ask about PC vs. Macs. A lot of Basilers hate Macs, whether they have a valid reason to or not.

I made my own 4 years ago with an AMD 64 Athlon Dual core processor. Sure it took some time for the parts to arrive but it was worth it. Saved up to 500$

[/quote] Yeah It's not impossible you know! :O My laptop that I have right now isn't that high end, but it was the best you could get 4-5 years ago. A bit outdated, but it still works like a charm. If you live in the right country you can easily get the parts much much cheaper from China, Taiwan, Japan Etc you get the point. Sure It'll take a while but its definitely worth it. EDIT: I would still prefer buying a deskopt PC since the G73 wouldn't last 2-3 hours while gaming with everything on max settings since the battery would run low. There wouldn't be enough juice to power it. With the new generation of gaming around the corner, I'm pretty sure that the G73 WILL be outrated and another model will "win the throne" Sure if you put it on some sort of "saving mode". So yeah, I could get something cheaper with 3/4 of the performance of a G73. For me It's all about the Processor, RAM and graphics.

I like using macs for work and pc's for fun. The only reason I have a mac is because my mom gets to take them home from her work, unlike the PC which I actually went and bought.

Using Intel's i7 with HTing, DDR3 RAM, and AMD/ATi's 5870 DX 11 GPU.
