I hunted at Cube slimes with avenger for 4 hours - 1 hour 30 mins of 2x, 30 mins of 1.5x and 2 hours of 1x. Nothing good dropped. All I got was Steel Arbiorn and Nemaki the level 35 spear. Then I casted a Shadow Partner for luck. I used a Cider. I used Lucky Seven. Before it hit the Cube slime, I closed my eyes. I waited 10 seconds before I opened them and guess what it dropped! Not even a bundle of mesars.

I know it can take a long time before a Maple shield drops, but just try to enjoy yourself while hunting and eventually it will drop
