I was wondering what would be the most profitable thing to do with 5k maple leafs or maple leafs in general thxs again

I would just sell them now, while idiots are paying 7k per leaf. Then I would buy leaves later on, when they're cheaper. It tends to work that way every year, so it isn't exactly a risky bet to make.

get/ upgrade items and then sell them a couple months after the event

every year i do this i buy for the cheapest like on 1st or 2nd day and sell higher on 3rd. i always make like a 60mil profit.

sell them for 6k-7k each then try merching with them buy 4-5k sell 5.5-6k each

Make a ton of skandas and daggers. Skandas are always a ridiculous price. Daggers for Dual blade.
