| I'll start. :3 Sooo I'm a Junior in High School now, and Freshman year I played on the football team. After Freshman year, I went to Florida to visit family and one day we all went to Universal Studios for a day. We were walking and I saw a crowd of people so I went to see what was going on. When I get there, its a BBoying, or Breakdancing, show. I just stood there in amazement. I just couldn't understand how they could move like that and I wished that I could do it. So, when we got home, I went on youtube like a little noob and put in "How to breakdance." I tried to learn but it was all too hard. Oh, I forgot to tell you, I was really overweight. About 5'11 215~220 lbs. So I'm trying to do these moves and my mom walks in on me (my birth mom who I'm visiting, I live with dad and step mom who raised me) and shes like, "Wth are you doing?..." Me: "Trying to learn how to breakdance :D" Her: "lolol -walks away-" Me: " D: ... " So the summer went by and I went back to school, and when football came along I told all my teammates that I was quitting. They asked me why, and I said, "To dance." All of them looked at each other and started laughing like crazy. All I heard was, "Are you kidding me?... Quitting football to dance? You're fat, you cant dance." I felt like crap for the longest time, but I just kept practicing. Eventually, I learned how to 6-Step and do other types of footwork. I got one of my friends, Felix, to start dancing with me. We would both practice in my garage after school at least 4 times a week. Time passed by and it was the end of Sophomore year, so me and Felix decided we would both start going to school dances and stuff. We started practicing in the hallways because the football coach, who Im cool with, said he would watch us so we could practice. So while we're practicing, the whole football team is watching us to the point to where they have to do extra laps because they're not paying attention. After practices they would come up to me and say things like, "Wow, how the hell did you learn to do that?" It just all felt good. Felix and I would go to school dances and make a circle and just dance and dance. We've done talent shows, and we've even done gigs with other friends who play instruments for foundations for children and made some money. It's Junior year now, and I've been dancing for over a year. I'm now 6'1 190 lbs. I'm respected in my school and known as a BBoy. No one calls me "the fat kid who cant dance." I have kids wanting to learn, and every friday we use a classroom and I teach my friends. I've shown people that they can do whatever they want, if they strive and never give up.
