Is A Macbook Worth It?

Hello apple consumers! I'm planning to buy a Macbook (the 999$ one) but I'm not sure if it's worth the money, care to help?

Get a PC if you want high-end memory, specs, gaming potential, etc. Get a Macbook if you want high-end multimedia capabilities, a sturdier set of software, and an easier interface (with web apps, downloads, etc).

The $999 version isn't worth it. I used to have it until I got the 15" Macbook Pro. Cons: Sluggish 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo (Come on, Apple!), 2GB of RAM, small screen For $1000 you can buy yourself a nice Core i5 Toshiba laptop or something like that. I don't think the base Macbook is worth it at all

I just bought the 1400 upgraded one, and I love it. Even if you do want to game, I run maplestory just fine with parallel.

get the $1200 ($1250 cnd) 13 inch macbook pro. They've recently been updated and totally worth the money imo

If you are going to university definitely get a macbook. A lot of university firewalls require that you download a bunch of BS onto your windows one for it to work and it messes up anyway. Plus chances are you will hate your windows laptop in a month when it starts to randomly frig up, while a macbook is smooth sailing for its entire existance.

Apple products in general are overpriced for what you get. And if you're just going to browse the internet, all you need is a netbook or w/e.

I purchased my Macbook a couple years ago as my first laptop and I love it still today. The keyboard layout is quite unique, how there's enough space between each key. My brother's laptop/netbook are so hard to type with! You don't need Parallels to run Windows, you can make another partition with Bootcamp. MSNing with the iSight is fun. If I were to get another laptop, I'd get something Windows based for gaming. My Macbook is mostly for socializing/school/media.

Its quite funny how people are like mac rule, if you want to play games just get a parallel program that runs windows. So basically, its just buying a mac for its looks? BUT if you are like doing like important work, i'd say buy a mac, since people don't bother making viruses for macs.
