Do You Get Money From Your Parents or Paycheck?

Do your parents give you money each week or do you have a job. I really think that once someone turns 16 he/she shouldn't get pocket money from their parents, but should get a job instead. Please post your age and specify where you get your money and how much you get a week I'm doing a survey.

18. I just have a part time job, and a large amount of the money I get is from tips. I also get irregular hours, so.. On average I'd get $185 w/o tips; tips included I'd get about $250. EDIT: My parents are sometimes nice enough to pay for some of my stuff though.

15, 16 on Sunday, I babysit for the neighbors. 4 bucks an hour to watch 2 kids, making an average of 80 per week. I just put it in my bank account and don't spend it, only if necessary. Hoping for a job at Friendly's in a few weeks.

I'm fifteen years old. I'm in the 10th grade. My dad is a Math teacher that used to tutor, but now I tutor some of his former students. I make $15 an hour, which translates to about $60 a week (3 students, and a total of 4 hours per week between all 3 kids). I still get money from my parents for my birthday, Christmas, and if I do well at the end for the school year, they'd buy me something of my choice, or give me money to save up. Edit: Parents still buy my clothes for me, and sometimes they give me extra money to go to the movies, if they feel that I deserve it. Basically, most of the money I get from my parents is if I get high grades, high averages, etc. They run a meritocracy. =P Edit 2: Saving up for http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227240 $350 to go. =] Edit 3: @ below, That's nice! $88. =D I usually spend like 5 a week, because I'm trying to save for [Edit 2]. Teaching kind of runs in my family, and my dad started tutoring around this age, too. I think tutoring is a solid job. I love teaching, especially math and science (favorite subjects =D).

I make 88$ a week from tutoring one kid for 8 hours a week.
