Well, there has been a lack of activity for the original thread ( Not sure if the people have been busy but yea) This won't be a fancy thread just some ideas. Reason for this: Well I would think that everybody that has been on basil/maple would like to meet new people, (I love meeting new people since you may never know how some stranger can change your life;P speaking fro experience) and it would just be great! I understand there have been other basil conventions in the west coast, so it would be awesome to have a west coast one here as well! Place and time: Mid July -the other organizers which I know was thinking of having it in July, again this is temporary to maintain people who would still like to come- The age I would prefer would be 16+ unless you have a guardian accompanying you, it may be 13+. I would also like to have some numbers of 18+ year old who have the ability to drive, depending on where we are going ( I will be able to provide most transportation, but depending on the number of people coming, at least 3-4 people who are allowed to drive) If we were to go to the city: The central point of where I think would be the best place to meet up is somewhere in the city, preferably Grand Central Station/Terminal. You must be 100% responsible for yourselves, there will be an attendance check off and whatever stops we make, we'll make sure everyone's with us. I won't be leaving the convention until I make sure everyone returned home safely. Another place we may meet up is some of the beaches on Long Island. We can enjoy the day on Gilgo beach (my favorite!) and if it gets dark or too cold, we can then go to one of my restaurants (fourfoodstudio.com or twoonline.com) for food before we go back home. Again, I will make sure everyone's there and I would like to get an estimate of how many people will be attending by the end of may so I can make sure my schedule is clear (As in, no parties taking place at the restaurant) One way of making sure we are who we say we are is either posting our basil names on our shirt, or exchanging cell phone numbers/screen names so that we may be able to call/mobile i-m each other to see if we are there and be 100% secure on the situation. Depending on where we will go, I will have a sign that says "Basil Con, NY" so if you see me, then come (P.s, I apologize if this totally screwed with the other thread Tina, just didn't want people to lose hope of the convention. And if there is a 100% official one that was already organized and established, please link me it.) Thanks for reading.
