Okay, no conflict here please. Just post a reason for either one of your camps and I will post it in the opening post. I will update it at around 18 Basil Time every day. I want to compile a list of each camps arguments. I will not refute either one, and will post ANYTHING you say, unless it's just blatant slander, regardless of how much I disagree. Before we continue however, let it be known that I come from a christian family and I believe in evolution and will try to remain as neutral as possible and mediate the volley of arguments. If you, believe one fact or reason of the other party to be misleading or incorrect, quote them, and post your rebuttal. The format for the opening post, to give you an example as how this civilized (hopefully) forum on the scruples of origin will take place, will be as follows: Evolution Pro 1. Reason a.)Con b.)Con . . . ad nauseum 2. Reason a.)Con b.)Con . . . ad nauseum Intelligent Design Pro 1. Reason a.)Con b.)Con . . . ad nauseum 2. Reason a.)Con b.)Con . . . ad nauseum and so on. I may miss some arguments so excuse me, for not being as diligent as possible, now discuss.

There's supporting evidence for evolution. Some of which is observable. There's no supporting physical evidence for intelligent design.

a. Intelligent Design is not a scientific theory, not a scientific hypothesis, and simply not science at all. It is an untested, unverifiable idea that people without any science training are calling to be injected into public school science curricula. If we can allow pure conjecture to be taught along theories that are the foundation of our knowledge today, why not allow the 2012 idea to be taught as well? Or the Ancient Astronaut idea in history class? Or the idea that the earth is expanding? Why not tell kids about homeopathic medicine in health class? Or cover cryptozoology in biology? It's not science. So why are people demanding that it be taught as such?

Creation is the truth. If i would explain myself it would take to long. Are you telling me, a whole 100million light years of galaxis came from absolutely nothing? Science states that impossible, yet you base your facts on science.

Why does it have to be one or the other? Evolution is obviously occurring and can be observed. Why couldn't an intelligent being have created the Universe, and along with that, evolution? So I guess an intelligently designed evolution? What I don't believe is that one day humans didn't exist, and the next, God created us just as we are today. There are many theories as to how life came to be; from a pool of amino acids, from a wandering astronaut, etc. But that doesn't rule out intelligent design. What if God created the universe with the capabilities to create life?

Evolvtion can be pretty much proven and in some animals even see within a few years its just hard for people to believe in something that has nothnig to back it is all the second god appears before the world and says hi I'm god is the monent I'll believe in him. Until that day comes I'd rather listen to logic and the edvince we have already. |

Or what if we just aren't intelligent enough to "see" God in the world. There are so many possibilities. Modern science and religion can be coupled together perfectly if we just let go of a few old beliefs. And I feel sorry for the person that has to see things to believe them. Do you believe in quantam mechanics? Do you believe in black holes? Do you believe in the universe itself? All of these things cannot easily be seen, yet most people accept them as fact. |

The amount of these threads I've seen in the past 3 years..... Dam, why can't we discuss something of contemporary relevance rather than go into pointless philosophical clashes...

When someone can prove to me Jesus and God are real, sure I'll be all over that. But until then Evolution is the only theory that has hard evidence supporting it. So yay for evolution.

Evolution as change over time has lots of evidence. Evolution as origin of species through a single master specie has no evidence. No hard evidence anyway. It's just a bunch oh inferences.
