Maplestory DS Help?

Sorry, but I didn't know what section to put this in. On Maplestory DS, I just got past the part where I get the magician friend. I go to the next portal but when I go to the next one, the thief 2nd job guy is there and says something in Korean and blocks me. I have no idea what to do since I can't read it. Can anybody help? Also, how do I level up my skills? Or do I just follow the story line and it upgrades by itself at certain points? Sorry for the wall of text :P EDIT: Sorry, forgot to say I'm in 1st chapter and I'm a thief.

What character did you start with and what chapter is this? Also, to get stronger skills, you find the skill books for the skills that are higher levels. The max level for a skill is level 3.

Ahh, sorry to say, but I'm on chapter 9 for the warrior :L. I'm saving the theif for if an English Version comes out.
