I was reminded of this from the other Atomic Bomb thread. As we all know, at the end of WWII, America bombed Japan at Hiroshima and then at Nagasaki. During my AP American class, my teacher told us this story about this guy who survived BOTH bombings! Supposedly, he was on a business trip at Hiroshima when the city was bombed. He miraculously survived and then went back home. His home was in Nagasaki. Nagasaki was bombed and once again, he miraculously survived. I thought it was pretty intense. Thought like sharing it.

[/quote] Japan had never lost a war like the Americans and they would rather die for the country and Emperor than admit defeat or have a conditional surrender. Families would jump off cliffs, kamikaze/suicide attacks and Bushido already cost most of Japan's population During the late end of the war, U.S. had been dropping all sorts of bombs/gas over Japanese cities leaving it in more than ruins and creating a fire storm from the heat waves that were caused by fire bombs and such, yet they still wouldn't surrender. If the Atomic bomb wasn't dropped, more of the smaller, yet effective bombs would've annihilate the mainland.
