Should I get FA?

I have a level 39 spearman. I've been looking through the guides, and they say that FA should be maxed. But some people say that I shouldn't get up Final Attack at all. So should I get it up? Tell me why. Will I regret it in the 3rd or forth job? Edit: I am pure spear, personal choice.

I have a very little knowledge about spearmen, I'll tell you what I know. Hybrid concept works very well for spearmen, they lose FA for polearm mastery and such. Read a hybrid spearman guide, they should have all the information you need. @ above: that's for a fighter, Spearmen works differently, their 3rd job fury skill works well with Polearms, so hybrid is the way to go.

Nope, a hybrid spearman does NOT get FA.It sucks, lowers your mob damage, doesn't work with 3rd job skills and is overall really useless. Instead, you get polearm mastery + booster, spear mastery + booster and HB. Last points into w/e.

If you're hybrid don't get FA, if you are pure spear or polearm, you should max it. Don't add any points into it until you have around 20, otherwise it'll just waste some time.

[/quote] Don't put any points in it. whit slash blast FA still does the 260% damage, but it's not equally divided it's more like: 1st monster get 160%, 2nd gets 50% and the other 4 barely no damage, this means no KnockBack. (percentages are not exactly like that, it's just to make my point) this also means that with FA you will start with mob of 6, after 2 attacks (+1 FA), there's maybe 4 left at which you will have to attack again. without FA, 3 times SB would have killed the mob entirely. FA is only worth it if you plan on bossing during 2nd job XD BTW: don't go pure spear, iron will is useless skill anyway and you get enough points to max both mastery's, both boosters and HB. Don't waste those points. Even if you never use a PA, it would still be better for training to put the points in PA booster and mastery instead of FA. And PA's will always train faster then spears in 3rd job (unless you will be bossing all the time). fury is way faster animation then crusher + it has a greater range and higher KB probability. Some people say it's more expensive then pure, but you wil be using PA untill 110 and more likely even 130. this means you get one good PA at lvl 80 or 100 and train from 64-80/100 with a 100%'ed karstan. When you think it's time to start using a spear, you will be lvl 120 atleast, which means you can even equip reverse spear if you can afford that. In the end this means 1 good PA and 1 godly spear as endgame weapon. That's not more expensive then pure spear. Another motivation for hybrid is the fact that you do not know what maps nexon might release. I know atm ToT and skele's are better for spears, but maybe nexon will launch a new map with lvl 110+ monster with massive mobs and massive spawn. In that case, you will be screwed with the fact you can only wield a spear. To make it short: No FA, go hybrid (don't need to use PA)

"I've been looking through the guides, and they say that FA should be maxed." what the hell kind of guides were you reading? btw, don't go pure go hybrid... personal choice is garbage, it's a simple fact that this is a game and hybrid is an all around better build. and besides, you still get every single spear skill as a hybrid, and you can always just use a spear if you feel like it...

daniel3b represents (to me) what I hate about the 80 billion azn basilers who all have the same identical annoying personalities and snarky, technocratic answers. yes, Maple Story IS a game and personal preference IS important, not "garbage". however, he is right about the fact that you could go hybrid and simply choose not to use polearms. FA is completely useless, even if u use only spear. Everywhere you train until 70, ur going to be using Slash Blast which is slowed down by FA. So my advice is not to max FA, hybrid or not, unless u really love the cool animation it makes xP

FA is pretty pointless for spearman. You only use it 4x-7x.
