This is really a complete lost for me? The mesos and nx (mts) that is lost due to tax is completely stupid. First that money just dissapears, second there is no maplestory government, and third whats the true point? I dont know it just makes me mad thinking about ALL THOSE MESOS AND NX lost due to dissapearing tax numbers -.-. What are your guyz thoughts on this so called tax?

If they take away mesos per trade, and there IS consistent trade, then the amount of meso becomes less. Less meso = mesos worth more. Which is definetely GOOD.

To prevent insane inflation, you have to remove mesos at the same rate they are brought in. Thus the taxes. Study Economics and it will all make sense :P

I think the NX taxrate is absurd :/. The old one was much better and more reasonable. Tax is used to fund public works, such as our bathrooms and sidewalks :D.

i think its because when cbs use meso guard the taxes go to them :D another idea is when they give mesos to random maplers on events D: well tahts what i think...

Without Tax mesos would stay in the system for ever and ever and ever and inflation will eventually cost you several billion to buy like a 10 att WG That might work except max mesos is 2.1b The NX tax is to ensure nexon makes a profit, if all NX just stayed within the MTS nobody would buy NX anymore because there's always that amount of NX shifting back and forth between users

because once u loose more money and nx, and eventrually become poor in some point in your maple life, you may want to buy nx to regain your loss of mesos. This isnt a great impact when it comes by a person. But it is a HUGE impact if all 20million of us does it.

Every single game has some sort of money drain. Since there is an infinite source of meso flowing in to the game daily, there needs to be some way to take it out of the game (and there are dozens of ways in Maplestory) so that there wouldn't be endless inflation.

Unlike the real world, MS has mesos popping up out of nowhere. Thus the value will constantly decrease. The tax is implemented to curb that decrease in value. It's a similar case for the MTS, except that there's also the reasoning that if you have NX that can circulate forever, then Nexon would lose money as a result.

The meso tax is pretty much just an addition to buying stuff from NPCs to help remove money from the economy to prevent stuff from inflating like crazy. If you think items are expensive now, they'd be far more expensive without taxes. The MTS tax on the other hand serves an additional purpose. The tax is basically payment for being able to use the MTS. Nexon wants their cut of the real world money too, so they charge a fee to use the MTS, which comes in the form of taxes. @SaderSader: The 2.1b meso cap hasn't stopped people from selling items for more than 2.1b before. When you can't trade enough mesos, people just trade some items too that make up the difference.

Without an MTS, NX needs no taxes. Because of the MTS, NX works like a currency, and requires taxes. Taxes are a system to combat inflation. Simply put, inflation is the decrease in a value of currency. This can happen when there is any economical factor that alters the supply/demand balance, lowering supply or raising demand. Reduced supply causes higher prices (based on a competitve market) and inflation. Mesos and NX are taxed to keep the TOTAL amount in any given world from raising too quickly. Taxes remove a small amount of currency from circulation, striving to protect the supply/demand balance. I wonder what ever happened to that maple economics blog of mine....
