Alalme's Guide Series Edition #3: Protecting Your Account Welcome to the third installment of my guide series! In this guide, I'm going to be taking you through a method to protect both your computer, and maplestory account(s). Keylogging, Viruses, and malware seem to be everywhere within the Maplestory community. The amount of security threats faced in any one day are astonishing. �Let's face it, no one wants to get hacked. �So, we must take the nessacary precautions towards protecting ourselves. For the less tech-savvy of you, here's how it can be done! Disclaimer: In no way does this guide 100% gurantee your account security. �I, (Alalme) assume no liability for your account, computer security, or any issues faced when following this advice. This doesn't mean I won't help you should you come across a problem, but let's not sue me okay? Please verify what you are downloading before downloading it. Internet Browser: Mozilla Firefox Let's beat this dead horse a little more. If you currently run Internet Explorer, do yourself a favour and delete it. (That's a joke, don't actually delete it.) IE is far inferior to browsers such as Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari. �For the purposes of this guide, I'm going to assume you have never used a browser other than IE. As such, my reccomendation is that you Download Mozilla Firefox. Why? Firefox is a browser than handles similarly to IE. However, while IE is plagued with bugs, a poor security system, and countless inefficiencies, Firefox presents far fewer of these problems. �Firefox also supports something IE doesn't; add-ons. More on those later. Anti-Virus: avast! or Mcafee Anti-virus systems are essential to a healthy computer. This is the bread-and-butter of your security. These programs will do everything from file scans to firewalls to frying the ugly virus where it stands. �I reccomend one of the two following programs: Download avast! Download Mcafee Norton users: stop kidding yourselves, Norton is garbage. I've reccomended these two for a number of reasons. avast! is the most reliable free anti-virus available on the web. If you need a good anti-virus, you can't go wrong. Mcafee is the superior choice however. �Mcafee literally does everything, has a simple, easy-to-use interface, and recieved regular updates. Why is that important? Viruses are always changing, your anti-virus should be too. However, Mcafee requires a monthly subscription to use. Also known as, it's not free. I personally use Mcafee, and I have had no problems with viruses, Trojans, keyloggers, etc. �Don't fret if you can't get Mcafee, avast! is still excellent. Ad-Blockers: Ad-block Plus and no-script Ads are a potential threat to security. �They are a simple way to slip an unwanted program

In simple words. DO NOT TRUST ANYBODY OVER A GAME. Don't give info, dont go to badsites. Dont do anything but mind your own buisness, be legit. Also, people can still hack you even without doing anything. +1 like for me. I find this thread to be helpful

Did you hear about McAfee and how it pretty much destroyed a bunch of computers on XP? It pwned my school's computer lab I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise, looking good so far, perhaps you can link to Chrome and it's Addons as well?
