Black Borders Around Maple

I started Maple today and when I logged on, there was black borders to the left and right of the screen. I like it this way, but I just want to know why this happened. I can't post a screen because when I do, it doesn't show the black borders. Thanks. EDIT: I don't have Windows 7.

Your screen is Aspect Ratio is 16:10, while MS is running at 4:3. So the way your computer is set up, it is telling your GPU to scale MS to Fullscreen but keep it's native Aspect Ratio. So whatever happens from the last time you played to today, you did something to your computer that cause it.

i have windows 7 and have had the same prob since december. no matter what people post on how to try and fix it, nothing works. i will pay anyone who can fix this prob for me bc im sick and tired of it. i downgraded from a 21inch screen to 15 inch screen and now with the borders its like 10inch >.> its annoying to say the least and there has to be a resolution. please if anyone can help any of us out whos experiencing this we would greatly appreciate it.

Change the screen resolution by going to properties and adjust settings. Adjust aspect ratio. I had the same problem on my crappy laptop.

Its a feature, nvidia supports it (scaling), ATI probably aswell. You can change the settings in your nvidia control panel (right click on desktop) under the Adjust desktop size and position tab.
