I'm extremely sad to say that sometime between 7AM and 3.30PM EST on April 17, my account was hacked. I lost ~250M in raw meso + another ~3B+ in equips, scrolls, etc, and ~30K NX. Worst of all, however, the hacker maliciously deleted all of my characters (WTF, was there really a need to do that? -_-") - my 159 Paladin (EvilCowKing) and my 109 Aran (FrostyGlaive), along with 4 other 2X-5X characters. I'm quite upset that this has happened as I have never shared my account information with ANYONE and I have been very careful about what sites I visit on the net re: Maple, and I run spyware checks regularly on my PC. I was really looking forward to the May Anniversary (-this would have been my 4th). More so, I was really looking forward to the new balance patch (-I've been waiting for something like this for a LONG time), and I'm saddened by the fact that now I may never get a chance to experience it. Although I've filed a ticket to Nexon, considering that I only heard back from them last week regarding a ticket I filed on February 27th, I don't anticipate this matter to be resolved anytime soon. In the event that I only get my characters back with a clean inventory and no meso, hopefully some kind Windian WKs/Paladins will be kind enough to help a vet get back on his feet... At this point, all I have left on MS is a 9X Priest and ~3m worth of funding. I'm simply too distraught to effectively start all over again and redo the work that has consumed 4 years of my free time. To that end, I'm quitting MS for the time being. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge with others (-just got accepted into teacher's college, hurrah!) so I'll try to drop by and offer my advice to fellow WKs/Pallies in the meantime, but I make no promises at this point. For the record, though: Sword or BW? Sword if you want the best possible DPM. BWs still rock though! >:O Fire or Ice? Fire. FA or FA-less? FA ... and ALWAYS use CB on 4-6 mobs. (You get the benefit of increased DPM on single targets, with identical DPM on 4+ targets). Anyone who tells you Charged Blow sucks doesn't know what they're talking about. I firmly stand by that. 1H or 2H? 1-25: Doesn't matter 25-35: zOMG Fusion Mace! 35-43: tough out CPQ with that Fusion Mace! >:O 43-50: 2H Maple BW 50-64: personal preference 64-80: Belzet 80+ MorningStar End game: 1H + Attack Shield Sorry, I just had to get the last bit out there in case I don't return. =P Happy Mapling, ~Sebastian (EvilCowKing) PS - I'm not a fan of 'quitting threads,' however, given that I'm one of the few regular vets on this board, I wanted to say 'goodbye' ... hopefully it's only temporary.

me too. ive seen ur name a lot! i too got hekked at 175 earlier this year. but lucky me i didnt complain because i cud still train regardless of gear! (althought my friends wud say other things. It's too early to give up. Even CrazyNomad got his deleted level 200 Paladin+equips back, so why can't you get 'em back too ? Never believe those who say that Nexon does not care/help its customers, because a friend of mine (whom I know IRL) who was affect by the " lock " glitch got his perfect weapon back with extra +1 ATK, it just takes a very long while for Nexon to do sucha thing, took my friend about 3-4 months of constant mailing. I myself was affect by the rollback glitch which made me lost some of my decent equips and I 've been mailing Nexon for the last 1-2 months and look at what I got: "We appreciate you reporting this information. I will now forward your ticket to the proper department for further investigation. We ask that you please be patient as it will take time. Thank you and your patience is treasured. Sincerely, GM Diatia Nexon America, Inc." Which is the same as my friend used to get earlier, and it's also the same GM who got my friend's weapon back. So it's just a matter of time until I get my lost equips back. You too, can get your deleted account back, all you need is just a bit of patience as they take about 20-40 days to reply to each ticket. Good luck with w/e you 're going to do and PLEASE don't quit basil, who 's gonna be patient enough to put such detailed replies in " FA vs FA-less/1H VS 2H/BW or Sword/etc" threads after you leave ? D; Off topic: I really like the name Sebastian, it reminds me of this! . XD!

yes i find the GMs actually do read your ticket as long as you don't demand something be fixed for you... & you give them some info to work with, and yes be patient (i sent a ticket about the east coast thing... thousands of others did as well, and i seem like i can play regularly without a patch to fix it, i can get to ch1 now at least... took awhile though) back when they changed guildnames that they felt were innapproriate, one guildie requested it be changed to something different, and they did do it. they also fixed silly little things like their wedding ring effect while they were there, and these guildies were also temp banned for swearing at a hacker that stole their map, so it's not like they play favorites. PS. i like FA too

This is truly an atrocity. Honestly, this is one of my big fears. When the mass hackings were going on a few months ago, I was surprised this sort of thing didn't happen more. It is a big sigh of relief to hear people report that others have had their characters (and equips!) restored. I was certain it was possible, but Nexon's compliance is necessary. Glad to hear they give it! This has steadied some resolve to, if not start a campaign, send in a ticket to suggest a revamp of the deletion requirements. The fact that it's just as easy to delete a character as it is to sign in is just moronic. Personally, I think deleting a character of a certain age or level should require more correspondence such as a ticket. There shouldn also be a delay. What everyday reason would a person have for erasing their fourth job character? Or even third? Yeah, it doesn't make sense to have a long process to delete a brand new character because you happen to not like the name you just chose, but generally people are more invested in higher leveled characters.

I've seen you post around here since forever ago, and like everyone else, will be sad to see you go. I took a lot of the advice you posted around here when I was a WK, who knows how long ago. I just can't believe there are people out there that would do that. I hope Nexon responds to your tickets, and I agree that the security system needs some serious revamping. Deleting with just the PIC has got to be the worse idea ever. On a brighter note, congrats on Teaching school, I have one more year left of it myself, it's pretty fun. Stick around, and keep pressing the issue with Nexon.

wow man that sucks well if you do get your paladin back with a clean inventory i would do anything i could to help you get back on your feet i dont really know you but the responces you post on all the repeating "bw/sword" or "fa/fa less" show that you care about the newcomers "even though they should learn how to click a sticky" but if you dont get it back ill be sad to see you go

NOOOOO dont quit! log with nexon as the others have said and be patiant. Id cry oceans if my pally got deleted too. Hopefully they will fix the mass hackings that have been going on (my maple wife got hackd too) as well as the problems wt character deletion.

It's sad how some of the greatest maplers get hacked. I'm sure if the hacker knew what kind of person you are, and what you do on these damn forums, I'm sure he wouldn't so much as lay a finger on your account. Hope you ain't gone for good.
