What is the point of levling a mount?

So if you decide to get a mount I'm aware that you can level it up but is there any point to levling it up or is it just some random thing they decided to put in for no reason at all.

So far see no point in it other than monitoring how long you've had it; Though you may have to have your mount a certain lv before you can get the next mount

I'm pretty sure the more you level the more tiredness it can handle. Or that just might be me.

for fun~~~~and ull eventually lvl it since ull have to feed it once it's tired unless ur a torturer and want to devily torture ur mount to death muahahahaha

You have to level it to a certain point in order to upgrade the mount. Ex: pig-->silver mane --> dragon
