Intro Hi, I wrote this statement for several reasons, being the main reason that the Evan class isn't what i expected it would be. I state that it isn't strong enough nor is it fast to be known as a legend or a hero. But I wont just state it, I m going to try to prove what I m stating too. First of all, one may think because the Evan is a legend or a hero, it should overpower the adventurer counterparts, magicians. Actually, this is something they couldnt achieve. At level 10 From level 10 to 20 you are pretty much a magician with a dragon companion, however magic missile, very similar to magicians magic claw, your first and main 1vs1 skill until level 30 is somewhat slow (I dont know if it is in fact slower than magic claw but I just feel it slower) and dragon soul, your first but extremely useful passive skill, exactly the same boost of meditation but really early, stack able and passive, wow just wow. At level 20 You get fire circle, your first and main mobbing skill until 40. It is slow and weak also. Although you may say Zomg, its a mobbing skill at level 20! but even warriors slash blast is more powerful, faster and hit more mobs so in conclusion, you just need it to speed up the completion of your Evan quests. You also get teleport, exactly the same of a 2nd job advanced magician. At level 30 You get an useful skill, magic guard, and an offensive skill that will invite you to think Evans totally overcome other magicians, lightning bolt. Very similar to ice/lightning mages thunder spear, almost as powerful but not as slow, actually faster. On the other hand, you must pay 2000 nx cash for a cash shop mastery book to be able to increase magic guard skill level past 5. Not obligatory, but it is necessary if you plan to go red kents later on or go skeles in the future. However, lightning bolt inspired me to keep training my Evan, as it did with almost all of us. At level 40 You get a new mobbing skill, ice breath, your main mobbing skill until 80, and elemental reset. Elemental reset isnt every important right now but it will be later on. Ice breath is way more powerful and hits more mobs than fire circle, also freezes but you have to charge it. Although spam able, it isnt a very good idea to do so, as you wont do over 200 damage and you wont freeze as often. At level 50 Your dragon evolves and finally looks like a charmeleon with wings so you get inspired and want to keep training for the glowing charizard. You get a new and very powerful skill, magic flare, which you may think is fire or holy but, in fact, is neutral. It doesnt change the fact that it is very powerful though. Sort of slow, but you like to play with it, just as you liked to play with lightning bolt. Ah yeah, I forgot you also get your first party skill, magic shield, the lowest skill with a cooldown. Despite it shields you and your party 30% of the physical damage, casting speed and cooldown will prevent you from using it often, even in boss runs. I would rather

interesting article i've also had my suspicions about the evans and what the true potential of it is; what sets them apart from archmages, if you will. i can see that this is not some half ass'd assumption since your evan is currently 136 but i do have a couple questions... "What Nexon actually made is a magician class not able to boss or train effectively. " what did you mean by this statement? and how did you make it to 136 so quickly? OT: i think his article is not very long, it's the set amount of words he needed to communicate what he wanted to say. the basil community should start reading more and complaining less about the length of written work. it's someone's time translated into creativity. if everything you needed communicate/ingest into your being required a short hand version then, you, need not to be considered intelligent, anymore. I actually enjoyed reading this. Now I know what's to come for me.

i thought it was a good read but even though evan is a hero it can't be good at everything else everyone would make them, they need to have a balance i feel soon the aran, even, dual blade balance patch will be out in kms to fix everything thats screwed up about them and then will eventually come to gms like the other balance patch

Aran's an old dude that helped defeat the Black Magician and Evan's a boy who carries on the fight against the Black Magician's evil which caused the near extinction of the Onyx Dragons = why they're legends, not because they're gonna overpower/out-do Adventurers. xD And ofcourse Evan will overcome the Darkness. His friendship with Mir is so FTW. xD

Lol [/quote] I thought i would probably be misunderstood on that sentence. Evans are efficient but they aren't effective . They are efficient because they can train and boss very similar to other classes, including magicians. They have their up and down levels like other classes too. On the other hand, they aren't effective because they don't greatly excel on the one or the other. According a master (4th job advanced) classes evaluation: Heroes are great boss slayers, Paladins are great slaying elemental weak bosses, Dark Knights are also great boss slayers, especially boss runners due a vital skill only they can provide. Bishops are fast trainers, also somewhat useful boss runners. Both arch mages are fast trainers too. Bowmasters and marksmen are both great boss slayers, and boss runners too due a vital skill only they can provide. Night lords are great boss runners. Shadowers are... (actually very similar to evans). Corsairs are great boss slayers so are Buccaneers, besides boss runner too. The aran is great overall: boss slayers and fast trainers, thus a legend. It hits 12 mobs since level 10, has the best DPM and one of the best training rates in the game. The only flaw is the average hp. Evans are magicians but they aren't fast trainers overall. Evans are fast trainers on and only on galloperas and due earthquake. Most evans will train on them for 50 levels more or less. Flame wheel is stronger than earthquake and somewhat great for training. However, there are only few maps to perfectly exploit it, certain ToT maps, peak and skeles mini-dungeon bottom. On the oth |
