Maplestory prohibited by law?

Lol so my mom got all pissed at me for playing so much maple right? (I only recently started playing like a week ago and been playing only max 3-4 hours a day, I actually play outside and read and stuff though) (I also get straight A's...even after I skipped a grade because I was so smart) So in her argument she says that in some states in the US, Maplestory's been prohibited by law because kids get so addicted... True or false?

... That sounds bizarre. O_O Although in the end it's make more sense than the ban on saggy pants in some states. I'm not from the US, but it doesn't sound realistic to me.

Of course it's not. Logically, if Maple Story isn't even prohibited by law in China, there's no way in hell it'll be prohibited here, in ANY of the states. Plus, as the first poster said, it's not even as addictive as WoW for most.

I honestly don't think so; by googling it , one gets approximately 9,000 hits, and within the first few hundreds there's nothing about said subject. They all seem to handle the rules of the game, in fact. Furthermore, when sorting out all the irrelevant stuff, you end up with a search somewhat like this and I suppose you could be the judge.

I think the only thing pertaining to a prohibiting law to online games is the "no one under 13 allowed"; of which is never inforced.
