Questions to all the Axe/BW heroes and paladins

do you ever regret your decision of going to the less used weapon instead of swords? i know about the unstable damage but is it really a good decision to use a axe/bw? i m going to be starting in demethos so is it worth choosing the least popular weapon to save cash? Also do you ever see yourselves not being chosen for a boss run due to the availability of sword users?

I don't regret it, but it was & is not a matter of saving money. The BW I'm saving up to buy is about 20 times more expensive than the equivalent sword. / note that I'm talking about my Paladin, my DK obviously doesn't use BWs. The unstable damage is pretty easy to quantify... you'll train slower, lose more money on pots , and do less damage at bosses than with a Sword (or spend more on equipment to catch up). If you don't care about those then yeah, it's a good decision.

Not really. In most cases these days, the BWs are outpricing the swords. Which kind of sucks.

i can definetly tell the 3:2 slash stab ratio more than ever with an axe.... and i like seeing big numbers so a few smaller ones wont dicourage me...and i love swinging a huge axe around

No, just because i love the looks on Blunt weapons, and swords and sword scrolls cost to much compared to the 50k you spend on each 60% BW ATT scroll.

I hated swords they look wimpy, once i hit 120 i am making a reverse 2h and creating the signature banhammer move

Nope, I find my damage still really nice despite the fact that the lower bound of it is extremely low. Also, I love how bws happen to look; it's like having free n(x) equip. <3 pink seal cushion and crushed skull.

Nah, as an endgame weapon, (blunt-weapon) the best 1-h would be a godly 130+ ATT Yellow Duck Tube, or a stronger morningstar, the benefits of unstable depend, increases the possibility of 1HKO-ing, as I already can at skeles. Besides, who doesn't love big numbers (to you DMG whores).

@Above Look how AWESOME! his BW is! I'd much rather hit a monster with that BEAST than with a sword. Yea once you hit pally with a BW the damage is pretty awesome anyway xD. Plus you can scroll a godly Weapon without having godly funds xD!

If you're going to start in Deme,don't use a axe/BW. I used to play Deme before,and trust me,when there're 5-10 fms in Ch.1, no one sells axe/BW.

I have, but I gave up on caring. I started 1HKOing Skeles in my 14x. And, no one takes Paladins anyways, so it doesn't really matter if you are Sword or BW. LOL, OK, that was a joke. No, it doesn't matter.

hmm... i think the palis in general should go hybrid anyways. they don't need final attack at all, and the first 1hkoing thing only helps in your lower levels. once you get into the 16x's and 17x's, when you should always be 2-3 hkoing(or maybe even 1hkoing all the time), it comes off as a downfall. not only are pali skills single hits(compared to 2 for hero and 3 for drks), but increasing the variability of your damage even more with blunt weapons doesn't make sense to me. so my verdict would be to go hybrid- use only use blunt weapons until 14x-15x, because it's cheaper unless you're getting a crushed skull, and then switch off to a sword for more stable damage. hopefully money won't be a problem at that point. edit: so i forgot 3rd job forces you to choose which skill set to pick... go with swords then if you're thinking long term.
