I've seen conflicting statements on this question and i wanted to clear it up. Thanks
moocow2001 : His accomplishments are irrelevant to his personality. If he's wrong, I'll correct him, no matter how famous he is. If he's being arrogant enough to annoy me, I'll flame him. Of course, since I think he was right, and wasn't overly egotistic, I see no need to do either. OT: If they're more of a solo class, why do they have Time Leap and SI? They're certainly not as party-oriented as Bishops, but I'd say they're more party-oriented than Corsairs or Heroes.
I think when Buccas were designed, they were meant to be party oriented, but that didn't work out very well. They only skill people want them from them in a party is TL most of the time. SI doesn't have an affect on any of the ranged classes, and imo, I couldn't notice a difference in my attacking speed with max SI and barrage as opposed to no SI and barrage (with a King Cent.)
AranRaptor : In GMS, Screw Punch is Backspin Blow (I think). Just in case you didn't know what skill ShiKage was talking about.
Nope. Screw Punch is "Cork Screw Blow." Back Elbow doesn't have invulnerability frames.
SI affects Corsairs and Marksmen... that's 1/2 of all ranged classes, and it effects an attack speed increase for almost all melee classes. I think it's a more important skill than TL, most of the time. TL only really becomes important if too many people die, and your bishop(s) run(s) out of Res.

Back Elbow = Backspin Blow right? I'm pretty sure Backspin Blow has some invincibility frames, if you switch quick enough into dragon strike. However, you seem more knowledgeable, so I'll take your word for it.
Backspin Blow does has invincibility frames, very little though. :x I often use Backspin Blow to get out of being smacked around by a Death Teddy's magic in CPQ2. But Backspin has to be used more carefully than Corkscrew Blow seeing as it has considerably less invincibility frames.
The only "invulnerability frames" that Back Elbow has is from the rush effect. That's an automatic thing, though. The skill itself has no invulnerability frames -- just the initial transition of the character from one point to another. You'll notice this with teleport as well. As soon as the transition is complete, you're wide open to attacks.

At least I use it often to get out of attacks. :s I could be playing my Brawler wrong though. But out of your list of skills with invincibility frames, wouldn't Dragon Strike be included? I thought that was the main skill used in "Dragon Dancing." :x
snowshoes : Nope, they get a big boost after balance patch. Stronger barrage, stronger Dragon strike and range for both attacks. And a bit other stuff. Buccanner's DPM isn't great without Demolition. With Demolition, they have a awesome DPM (comparable to a NL). I mean hitting 25k-35k x 8 per 2 seconds at nearly maxed level. But lasts only for 2minutes or so depending on the level on super transformation. They are a class where you need real skills to handle, you don't simply hold down one button and kill. Also they are good at range and close up. Overall they are better than paladins, shadowers, arans and evans.
They don't get a stronger anything, other than maybe Energy Buster since it will have a 40% stun probability. They do, though get the range on some attacks like Barrage and Fist increased; and since Brawler range sucks for the most part, that is a pretty good fix by MS. Also, the attack time of Dragon Strike will be decreased. The last sentence you said you just pulled out of your behind. I like brawlers, I have one, I play it often, but they are not going to be better than Arans and Pallys. Pallys are going to be great after the balanced patch. Arans are currently one of the best bossers. Shads are also getting a huge boost damage wise and speed wise in the balance patch. With Demo, Buccs do have great DPM, but not comparable to an NL. After the balance patch, I'm sure they'll get better. I can't judge how much better they'll get, though, but I can definitely say for sure they are not going to go from being on the bottom of the bunch to one of the best bossing classes ever like you imply.
I sort of got confused in my own post when writing that, so my opinions might seem messy there (I'm very tired T_T). My main point is that Buccs aren't going to be as amazing as he said after the balance patch, even though I wish they would. I know barrage doesn't suck. The only thing I have against it is its range, which is being fixed.
moocow2001 : Actually, if I'm remembering this right, you have better damage than Shadowers and Paladins (on element-neutral monsters), as well as the mages. However, it's true that you're far from the best in terms of DPM.
Pretty sure a shadower has better dpm than a buccaneer. Also SI affects all the warrior classes (unless they got a lunchbox) and also I think it decreases cast time on bishop's genesis?
SI doesn't affect an Aran/Polearm Dark Knight wielding a Purple Surfboard. SI affects all other warrior classes. Don't know about a bishop's genesis, and I'm guessing if it works for Genesis, it works for Blizzard and Meteor too.

And no to the Genesis. Shadowers don't have better dpm right now, but they will soon. EDIT: @above, I'm pretty sure Dark Knights with Purple Surfboard is still only Fast (5) -2. They're only as fast as Two-Hand Swords and the like without Speed Infusion. Arans get +3 from their booster, so it's different for them.
