So I'm planning on purchasing the Xbox 360 Elite? (the latest one) I've researched most of it. Everything seems all good except for the RRoD part, I want to know if you guys have had it or not, and how much/long do you game on it? And about this warranty thing (I don't know much about it), is warranty free? Or do I pay for the warranty? (I know it's probably better to ask an Xbox forum, but I'm too lazy to register x))

I've had about 2 RRoD. One with an original, and one with an elite. Just remember that all consoles have a fault in them, so just enjoy your games to the fullest until the incident occurs. I can assure you, it will happen sooner or later, with any console / game.

I've had my Elite for about a month now, and no sign of RROD whatsoever. I play a couple of hours every few days. I heard they virtually eliminated RROD, but I'm not too sure about that(they've certainly lowered the chances, though). 1 year limited hardware warranty and 3 year RROD warranty comes with the Xbox, and you can pay to extend the warranty as well.

I got RRoD on my first xbox after like 2-3 years. I played minimally though (maybe an hour or two a week)

I only got the RRoD once and that was about a year and a half ago. I play for about 4 hours+ each day, as for the warranty I think it was free not 100% sure tho. The warranty lasts for 1 year.

They've been working on the RRoD problem for a while now and especially with the Elite, so you probably won't have that problem. Just get the warranty just in case you do get the RRoD and you'll get a new one.

The warranty's free and honestly, I think people bring up the RRoD way too much. Yes it can happen, but it can be serviced and fixed.

Lets say If I purchased an XBox Elite at Futureshop, and RRoD occurs within the warranty. Do I have to ship it? OR do I just simply return it to Futureshop?
