Theres nothing to be proud about. I'm proud of being asian but i am ashamed of being vietnamese, what have we really accomplished?....ever? our country has done nothing to improve the world or even attempted to. This is coming from a real vietnamese person, as in i was born and raised in Vietnam. Nothing in Vietnam is good. Most people in vietnam are racist, no one has respect for anyone, all merchants and stores lie to you, and the language itself sounds terrible. Not even vietnamese people want to be vietnamese, most try to act and dress like thier either japanese or korean. The Vietnaese news sites have to write articles about other countries to catch their audiences attention because NOTHING happens in Vietnam. Anyway, i wanted to make this thread to try and find some inspiration on why you should be proud to be viet, its not suppose to flame and i doubt itll turn in a flame war.

I don't want to kick you when you're down, but I honestly can't find any positives about the Vietnamese. Many are kind, obviously, but oh man... they have established such a poor name for themselves.

I dunno. I can't think of anything off hand created by Vietnamese that I use exclusively. buuuut it's pretty bad/ignorant to dismiss an entire culture. You should have some pride in who you are. If you believe your "race" hasn't done anything worth mentioning...you should change that. Sitting on a forum, whining and being a defeatist gets you nowhere. Change it yourself.
