Why do people call 12 year olds stupid?

I can't find why, everyone thinks 12 year olds are retarded. I'm 12 and i don't talk like. "Z0MG YOU N00B OUTTA MY L1F3!" That's how people usually talk in maplestory, yet look at me, I try to use nice grammar and use nice little periods in my sentences usually. So why be so ignorant against 12 year olds? Hell i was smart enough to quit this game after getting hacked.

12 year olds are the ones that try to fight older kids even though they know they will get beat up. Little kids do it for fun, but 12 year olds do it to annoy us.

Because we we're once 12 years old :P We know we were stupid. No I take that back we understand that we were stupid. You'll say the exact same thing 6 or so years from now. You'll look back at your 12 year old self and say "Goodness I was stupid." If you don't say that, well then, I guess you haven't grown since then :P

Didn't read the comments, but IMO, a 12 year old will never understand why they are generalized as "stupid" until they get older. Looking back, I've been dumb my whole life really.

It shows that teens are inexperience in life mate. 12 year olders seems to enjoy themselves more then they think which might be the problem maybe from experiences.
