Whats wrong with Magic Guard?

| I'm currently level 36 my Magic Guard is at level 5 and I have 3 SP but the little arrow is gray. I can't add any points to Magic Guard. I've noticed that some other people have had this problem as well but it happened to them when they reached level 40 and had unused SP. But it's happening to me a lot earlier. I already did the level 36 quest. |
