| I just saw yet another �This person is asking for my password- Is this a scam?� thread. So, I decided to rant and answer the �is this a scam question� once and for all. This darn well better be common sense to 100% of the people here. But if not, and even 1 person keeps their account info secure because of this, then good. So, here�s the brief version of my FAQ: Q) �Is this a scam?� A) Yes! That�s it. If you even have to ask, then yes, it�s absolutely a scam. Here�s the full version of my FAQ: Q) Where can I enter my info? A) Unless you are looking at your browser window and see that the site ends in �.nexon.net , then it�s a scam. Look at what I just typed very carefully, notice it must END in .nexon.net. Note those 2 dots. That means that maplestorynexon.net is bad, since there�s no .nexon.net at the end. Those last 10 characters must be . n e x o n . n e t? If not, you've just lost your mesos and items. Q) What about officialgiveway-nexon.net? A) It�s a scam! Well that URL ends in �nexon.net, doesn�t it? Is that the same as .nexon.net? No? Well, then entering your info there means you�ve lost your mesos, items, and maybe character. Q) What about nexon-gms.net? A) It�s a scam! It doesn�t end in nexon.net, just because it has the word nexon in it doesn�t make it official. Q) I found a cool download that claims to be a GM version of MS, is that legit? A) It�s a scam! Did you download it from a website ending in �.nexon.net�? No? Then it�s a scam! Q) I found a cool program that lets me do some sort of hack? A) It�s a scam! Did you download it from a website ending in �.nexon.net�? No? Then it�s a scam! Q) But the email I just got looks official and the person�s email ends in nexon.net A) It�s a scam! Does the website that loads when you click on the link end in �.nexon.net� as they are asking for a password? No? Then it�s a scam! Besides, Nexon will never ask for anything via email. Ever. Ever! Ever! Q) What about this download that will let me X A) It�s a scam! Whatever you are downloading will steal your info and you�ll loose everything and it will be your own fault. Q) I saw a cool youtube video that has a link that lets me be pro or copy mesos or whatever. A) It's a scam! Q) What about those surveys? A) They aren�t asking for your MS password, are they? If they did, then it�s a scam since we all know you only enter your password at the official MS site ending at �.nexon.net . However, entering your password at the nexon.net website in order to access the surveys is perfectly acceptable. Q) But� A) It�s a scam! Q) What if... A) It's a scam! |
