I know in Scania there is already two guilds that do this (Mature & Maturity). I suppose I could always join their guilds but I would rather keep mine. I'm just sick of the immature kids that quit something after they fail the first try, whether it be Balrog PQing, himing, guild PQing, anything that is tough the first few times until you get used to it, etc. I'm tired of kids aggravating other people in the guild, especially after I've told them twice to stop. So age might be hard to determine, but a mature only guild? Opinions on this and how to go about it?
FitoSaav : Maturity =/= Age
Thank you. Most of the rude people have been insecure juniors in high school (ones that I have observed).
ViolinFTW : So much irony in this sentence..
Read This: As Posted by xKimyAran: "An age requirement wouldn't work since I could easily say I'm 19, when I'm not. It just depends on how you act. I don't really understand how a 17 years old person couldn't get in a guild just because he's 17 and not 18. There are immature old people and mature young people, it all depends on how you see it. Also, as some people seem to think, writing stuff in caps like ''WHOOPA DOOPAH HELLOS EVERYONE ;DDDD I LOVE COWS !'' isn't immature... It's about having fun and enjoying yourself, as is Maplestory. So I don't really understand people who turn down real-life opportunities because ''I have a guild PQ at 5:30 I can't go eat supper with you !'' Some people just take everything too seriously. Maplestory is a game, enjoy the game !" I didn't type this, I just saw someone who made a post in which another person made a post that was related to that post.

I do believe supFlL is the leader of one of those guilds anyways. -.- No, I kick people if I find out they're harassing others or scamming. kids lack respect, both for others as well as themselves =/ and that's the proplem with the young people of today, whether it be irl or Maple.
nral : A mature only guild kinda depends on your definition of maturity, i prefer laid back guild that can be childish at times but in joking manner. Also that know when its the right time to be joking around. In sense know when to draw the line and get serious on touchy subjects, while respecting others views. Their very few guilds who advertise age as their requirement, i was part of one called freemasons, good guild while it lasted..however the reality of the matter is almost every guild you join will have someone you dislike. Its human nature, you cant get along with everyone. Age alone does not equate to maturity, so even guilds that advertise age arent very mature themselves. You sound as youre the guild master of the current guild u reside in as such, if i were you i would continue it as you have more say so in whos its in and whos not.
Hi Nel !:D

You're still going to get immature people in your guild. I was in a guild and was a junior master. The OTHER junior master, who was well in her 20's, kicked me out because I disagreed with her. And her boyfriend, also in his 20's, said crap to me about it. When I got invited back, the leader, who is also older, did nothing about it and let her have her temper tantrum. What you need to do is just have strict rules and don't put up with crap. Have a requirement on doing PQ's whether it is an age, level, or how long they've been a member requirement. Screen people before you invite them, don't invite random people. The only thing I'd really say as far as the age requirement goes is if you're hurting for member space and have to be that picky with the age requirement, then do it, otherwise there are other ways to deal with immature people that is more effective IMO.

Well, since it's impossible to tell whether they're lying or not, I would suggest inviting some friends or friends of friends as a start, and then letting them invite others that they think can handle it. If the newcomers aren't mature enough for you, just kick them or ask them kindly to stop. I agree with nral, you'll never find a guild that's all sunshine, rainbows, and lollipops. But I suppose you could find one that's just sunshine and rainbows? :D
Icephoenix21 : @Nral, exactly. When to draw the line is key, and respect for others as well. Yes, I am guild master. I was beginning to think it would be hard to do an age requirement anyways. There's no way to tell if they are lying about it or not.
Then base it on how they act as well. Give them a trial period and if you feel they demonstrate mature qualities then you can keep them.

Every ks comment/thread starts with "i was minding my business and thisBIGMEANYKSSQUAD took me map!" and there's usually a flame war / back story too it. and for "they were acting so tough in the game i would like to see them irl" Considering your acting tough on a forum were nobody can hurt/ks you.....
