Magic Guard After Lvl 39

If i lvl my evan to 40 and not get a mastery book for magic guard, will i be able to go back and and max magic guard later?

[/quote] No, its not hard at all (to me) I can survive rombots quite easily at CPQ1. That however is in room 3/4 because there are usually a bounty of pots in those rooms. I've only died like twice, and that was in the 35-42 range
