Death Penalty, are you for or against it?

I'm just wondering what Basilers think about the death penalty. Post your reasons too! EDIT: Two facts before you post an ignorant comment - 1. It cost more to go through a death penalty trial than it does to go through a life prison sentence trial 2. The death penalty DOES NOT lower the crime rate

I could argue that a headshot is painless and humane if done properly. With death penalty, the method of execution is inconsequential. at least to some degree, anyways.

I just believe that taking a life for a life is wrong.

Kill once shame on you. Kill twice shame on me There have been too many incidences of murderers getting released from jail, only to murder again. Between life without parole and death, I still support the death penalty. The fear of being executed is an effective deterrent.
