I think the axe formula for stab/slash is 75/110. Something like that. Also, they do less damage with Brandish.

When they get brandish, they start losing to sword heros. They brandish slower/weaker then sword heros.

Difference doesn't really matter until 4th job. For some reason Nexon decided to make Brandish a forced slash/stab, which puts axe heroes at a disadvantage as their stabs are a fair amount weaker than a swords stab while their slashes are only marginally more powerful than a swords slash. On the plus side, you could probably get a yellow-scrolled axe for less than 100m.

brandish ( an important 4th job skill) is based on stab damage and quite simply, axes do lower stab damage than swords... so your brandish damage would just suck... Edit: Omg ninja'd 3 times, fail

Bradish for sword and axe = 1 stab, 1 swing For sword: swing or stab is just both the same, and both listed % dmg = 260%/260% = average 260% per hit For axe: Swing is 110% and stab 75 = (260*1,1)/(260*0,75)=286/195 = average 240,5% per hit Which is a 19.5% difference in hits, which is quite alot :O

Not sure where any of you get your facts, seeing as none of you have done any research or own an axe hero, but: "Brandish forces one slash and one stab... while this does not affect sword users as their damage does not differ at all slash vs. stab, this greatly affects axe users who do about 75% damage on a stab and only 105% damage in a slash (roughly). In a normal attack, like power strike the chance of stabbing is 60% while the chance to stab is 40% (60/40), but brandish forces this attack down to (50/50). So think of it this way, if an average attack is 100% damage... sword users are doing this: 100/100 100/100 100/100 axe users are doing this: 105/75 105/75 105/75 Reverse weapons have balanced sword vs. axe a little bit, but it is still unequal. Sword users got an unfair advantage with the 10% GM scrolls that acted like 10% stat wise (5 att 3 str) but worked 100% of the time. These came out of a NLC quest where you exchanged 50 semi-rare etc items that dropped from windraiders. There was also a trick where you could get one of these GM scrolls every time you turned in 50 etc items. Lame on Nexon's part and they took FOREVER to fix it. So a lot of perfect lunchboxes and perfect carabellas were a result of that. Reverse weapons have made these two perfect items a bit antiquated, although the lunchbox is still pretty good since its fast 4, but lunchbox is now unobtainable. I believe lunchbox was 109 base, fast(4) while now a reverse axe (1h or 2h) can be as high as 125 base after levelling (16 difference in w.att), not to mention the additional STR and DEX from advanced maker crystals. But again, it is comparing Fast(4) lunchbox to Normal(6) axes (this applies to reverse swords as well in comparison to lunchbox, but it's more like 122 base reverse swords, axes get a few higher w.att). Reverse axes are Normal(6) not Slow(7) - the exact same as Reverse swords. It is my belief that if you really work hard as an axe user you can hold your own. It's a tougher road though. You can still do all the things sword heroes do, you just do it slightly slower. If you can scrolls a really godly axe, as it is a bit cheaper (50%s are really cheap) you can outdamage the average sword user. But, no matter how godly you get equipment-wise, you will always be a bit behind the godliest sword users, but they are a select few, and your damage output will still be impressive, albeit a bit weaker. One of these days I'll do a zakum solo and frap it." Quoted from Maiiev (itirnitee) from a sleepywood post. Edit:: I'll just save myself the trouble and post the link to the thread: http://sleepywood.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1635827 OT:: If you're looking for a unique class, while still maintaining the usefulness/power of a hero, then I think an axe hero is for you. As long as you work hard, it'll be worth it in the end. I think the same goes for any class, though. (:
aisu : Dont listen to them O: Those smelly sword heroes are just jealous cuz they dont have AXE deodorant.
ROFL at this post OT: Yeahh, like every1 else said, the dmg formula for axes are a lot more unstable than swords, and brandish is a stab, so axes end up doing less dmg. B4 brandish, though, it's not neccessarily worse, it's just if you're unlucky then you'll be stabbing more and doing bad dmg. If you get lucky often, then your swing will kick in, doing more dmg.
