What do Maplestory colours represent?

I've always wondered. What do the colors on weapons represent? And how do some people get their weapons personalized with their name?

I don't really understand the color question, but they tag their names on their weapons by a cs item.

The colors blue, purple and yellow, are for the numbers of stats added, Item Tag is a cash shop item.

So what numbers are they? And for those that don't understand, I'm talking about the writing. It changes colours.

The numbers are +5 makes it blue, +20 makes it purple, +40 makes it golden. -5 is grey? IDK about grey.

its just showing how above avg something is. idk the exact numbers and its not +5 for blue... but yeah its something like that. gold is best

2-5 is orange 5-23 is blue 23-40 is purple 40+ is gold Each stat counts as one, so wep def. is one, speed counts, wep atk counts as one, but for hp and mana, for every 10 it counts as one, so if you get a dark marble to work on your necklace obtaining +30 hp and mana, your only getting "+6", so it'd become either blue, if its below average it becomes orange
