Nexon's statement on what it means to play for free

"Nexon makes money by selling items in its games such as a new hairstyle for your character, a cool pet, or a different finish on a weapon. However, the game can still be fully enjoyed without spending any money . In fact, most players do not purchase anything at all. Our philosophy is that players will buy items if they are having fun." Source: http://www.nexon.net/Support/CustomerSupport.aspx click the orange link on the left sidebar saying "What does play for free mean?" What are your thoughts on this?

[/quote] You aren't everyone, and if they lock off Evan from all non-nx paying customers, then there will be people that cant fully enjoy Evan. And of course since Evan is part of MS, that means they cannot fully enjoy MS.

They're greedy. They're losing profit. They're putting GET SOME NX TODAY at the end of all notices. They probably purposely didn't put Non-NX mastery books in game to get you to buy mastery books. THEY CANT STICK TO PROMISES

when i learned about Evans, I was like: "Ok, a new class. Cool." When I learned that GMS decided to make mastery books only available through CS, I was like: "Ok, NOT cool." Making it only available through the CS only makes me want to play the evan even less (I already had no intention on playing the class to begin with). And their statement on being able to fully enjoy the game w/o nx? Well, i guess they totally forgot Evan is supposed to be part of the game too.

Back when Wizet still ran things, they had a "The Cash Shop will never give any gameplay benefits to those who use it. Cash items can be considered as cosmetic items" policy. What does MapleStory have now? Meso bags in the cash shop?

And in terms of Meso Bags, I think they mostly release those when the Economy in a server (usually new) isnt inflated enough. They make a killing off of those desprite enough in the newer servers... And that reminds me, they used inflation as a point against meso farmers, but are more that willing to inflated the market themselves... Hypocrits.

I've used about $200 on NX over the past 2 1/2 years. Honestly, I think the game would've been much more challenging and fun if I didn't buy that NX. I probably would've gotten fatter with that $200 though, considering I live next to a shopping center. So really, you CAN play MS with no $ and it's much better overall, while NX can help you out a LOT.

The surveys seem to be meant to make a fully fledged Evan possible for the NXless people as well. That it doesn't work for Europeans is because we're only ere because Nexon would lose out on too much money if we were kicked. We can stay here, but it's a little more complicated to get the same privileges as players from the US (and on some events we totally miss out). We can take the surveys, for example, but we'd need to use a proxy for it. Using a proxy is illegitimate and for that we could legally be banned from the game. Still if you count the surveys in Nexon keeps to its word in theory, it's... confusing.

well it is free to play and they are gonna make evan skill books available thru drops~~hime said that on nexon forums and frankly, i love spending nx on my char, FOR ME! cheaper than the movies F3

In my opinion when you spend your money to support nexon, that is paying for the game. Then of course, Surveys cost you time, and time is money. So spending your time to earn nexon money through surveys is paying to play. So, technically surveys dont have them keep their word. Not to mention you have to sell your person information... its not worth it. (Dont mention using fake addresses, names, etc. that is fraud and illegal)
